The Los Angeles Angels look to continue their hot streak with their fourth straight win. They hosted the Colorado Rockies in a spring training matchup. The Angels entered the game at 11–12, looking to climb back to .500 in spring play, while the Rockies came in at 11–10 hoping to remain above the mark.
The Halos struggled early, giving up runs in the opening innings. Jordan Beck drove in the first run for Colorado with an RBI, and Hunter Goodman followed with a three-run home run to give the Rockies a quick 4–0 lead. The Angels finally got on the board when a balk allowed Jorge Soler to score, cutting into the deficit.
The Angels’ offense came alive in the fifth inning. Jeimer Candelario blasted a two-run homer to bring the Halos within one at 4–3. Momentum continued to build in the seventh inning when Zach Humphreys launched a two-run shot to left field, giving the Angels their first lead of the game at 5–4.
Both teams continued to battle down the stretch. In the top of the eighth inning, the Rockies answered back when Bryce Carrigg hit a sacrifice fly to center field, allowing Benny Montgomery to score and tie the game at 5–5.
The Angels were held scoreless in the bottom of the eighth but managed to keep Colorado off the board in the top of the ninth. In the bottom half of the inning, Zach Humphreys delivered again, lining a ground-ball single that allowed Bryce Teodosio to score the walk-off run and seal a 6–5 victory for the Halos.
With the win, the Los Angeles Angels improve to 12–12, reaching the .500 mark, while the Rockies fall to 11–11. Humphreys was the key player of the game, delivering a two-run home run and the game-winning hit.
The Angels now have eight more spring training games remaining before opening the regular season against the Houston Astros on Opening Day in Houston.
