TUCSON, Ariz. — Noah Fifita threw for 262 yards and two touchdowns as Arizona defeated Northern Arizona 35-7 on Saturday, using a strong defensive performance and a mistake-free offense to pull away.
Fifita connected with Tre Spivey for a 20-yard touchdown on Arizona’s opening drive, giving the Wildcats an early lead and setting the tone for the game.
Arizona’s offense continued to find success throughout the game while committing minimal mistakes. The Wildcats maintained control and continued adding to their lead as Northern Arizona struggled to generate offense.
Arizona’s defense limited Northern Arizona to 193 total yards, including minus-7 yards rushing. The Wildcats consistently pressured the Lumberjacks and prevented them from establishing a running game.
Fifita finished the game with 262 passing yards and two touchdowns, helping Arizona maintain its offensive momentum from the opening drive through the final whistle.
Arizona will next face No. 14 BYU in a matchup that will provide a tougher test for the Wildcats.
