Mission Hills, CA – Two teams entered Week 1 desperate for a bounce back, but only one delivered. Notre Dame dominated from the opening snap, leaving Bishop Alemany searching for answers.
Both teams headed into Week 1 coming off Week 0 losses. This matchup was promoted as a bounce back for both teams, but this wasn’t the case. Bishop Alemany won the coin toss and elected to kick off to Notre Dame first; however, on the first play of the opening possession, Senior Quarterback Wyatt Brown would take a read option 75 yards to the house. This would set the tone for the rest of the game as the offense, led by Brown, would be unstoppable.
On the opposite side of the ball, Bishop Alemany’s offense could not get the ball moving through the air as Notre Dame’s defensive line unit was putting pressure on Bishop Alemany’s quarterback, Khanai Langford, causing him to scramble out of the pocket and forcing bad throws, giving Notre Dame’s secondary 2 picks on the day. Bishop Alemany had promising chances to score when utilizing the run game, but could not get past the red zone.
The game was run by Notre Dame as they shut out Bishop Alemany 42-0, with Wyatt Brown winning West Coast Sports Media’s Player of the Game, scoring 6 total touchdowns, with 5 of them coming from the ground. What a bounce back!
Notre Dame moved on to 1-1 for the season, heading back home to face St. Francis on September 5th.
Bishop Alemany is now 0-2, heading to L.A. to play Salesian on September 4th.
