Pathfinders Extend Unbeaten Streak with Commanding Victory
South Los Angeles, CA – The Fremont High School Pathfinders had no trouble keeping their winning momentum alive on Friday, cruising to a dominant 7-0 victory over the struggling Harbor Teacher Prep Monarchs at Ricky Bell Stadium.
Coming into the matchup, Fremont (6-1-1) had not lost since November 21 and had been surging offensively, netting 11 goals over their previous three matches. Meanwhile, Harbor Teacher (0-10) was desperate to snap a brutal losing streak, fresh off a 10-0 defeat to Foshay earlier in the week. The Monarchs knew they were in for a challenge, given their considerable gap in California’s MaxPreps rankings—where they sat at 1171st, compared to Fremont’s 290th-ranked squad.
Unfortunately for Harbor Teacher, Friday’s contest played out as expected, with the Pathfinders overwhelming their opposition from the opening whistle.
First Half: A Statement Start
Both teams eased into the match, but Fremont wasted no time asserting their dominance, scoring within the first few minutes. The early goal set the tone, as the Pathfinders dictated possession and outmatched the Monarchs with crisp passing and relentless pressure.
Despite a determined effort from Harbor Teacher, they struggled to contain Fremont’s dynamic attack. As halftime approached, freshman Victor Leandro found the back of the net, giving Fremont a commanding 3-0 lead heading into the break.

Second Half: A Scoring Frenzy and a Costly Error
Fremont picked up right where they left off in the second half, launching repeated attacks while Harbor Teacher barely managed to advance past midfield. Despite some missed opportunities, the Pathfinders continued to pile on the goals.
Junior Irvin Chavez extended the lead to 5-0, all but sealing the result. The Monarchs’ woes continued moments later when an unfortunate miscue by their goalkeeper resulted in an own goal, further padding Fremont’s lead.
The final dagger came from Fremont’s No. 12, who capped off the night with a seventh goal, igniting a celebration among teammates and fans. As the final whistle blew, Fremont players and supporters flooded the field, reveling in yet another convincing win.
What’s Next?
With the victory, Fremont extended their unbeaten streak and secured their fourth straight win, setting up a highly anticipated showdown against King Drew on Monday.
Meanwhile, Harbor Teacher will look to regroup as they search for their first win of the season.
